Park Soldiers: Your Soldiers For 2009/2010

I just got an email from Travis Banks (Park Crew Manager) with the line up for the 2009/2010 season:

Your Park Soldiers:

Travis Banks
John Thorne
Morgan Bowcock
Tyler VanLeuven
Gabriel Lang
Michael Aldridge
Dan Heis
Dennis Yanzick
Matt Mickelson
Brandon Layman
Patrick Shepard

I'm going to work on getting you some behind the scenes footage of these guys doing what they do. Like I've said before, these guys have one of the hardest jobs on the hill. I've done it. First on the hill and last off. And when it's nasty out it makes for a long day. I want to encourage everyone to do two things:
  • Show them some love when you seem them out there maintaining features or even just riding.
  • Write some comments on here with props, ideas, and especially, constructive criticism.
One thing I will not stand for is shit talkin' of any kind. You want to tell them they suck and don't know how to build shit? That's fine. Just do it in a way that is respectful and intelligent. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But this blog is all about positivity. No drama allowed!

  1. Looks like all new blood. Where'd the seasoned veterans go? The guys like Wes, Goggin, and Josh. These were people that had several seasons of experience and onhill knowhow that should be rewarded, not neglected. I'm sure all the new soldiers can hold it down no problem, they have done exceptionally thus far. But in regards to business practices this seems another example of Timberline viewing its employee base as dispensable and easily replaceable. i don't intend this as hatin on T-line, I love this area and the people it draws, but with the trend going on of cutting loose truly valuable individuals (Karen Larson or Becky Bunting anybody?) who does Kruze and Konstanz expect to keep this place going in ten to fifteen when they want to kick back and retire? That aside, keep up the good work in the parks.

  2. Easy man easy, good points sure, but really this isn't the place to bitch about that. Let's just be stoked that we got a solid crew holding it down. I can't wait to see what sort of goodness they got planned , especially for the upcoming jam when Paintbrush gets rolling. Any idea when that might be? Take it easy and pray for snow

  3. I agree with KP. This is a place to discuss parks not politics. Yes I would love to have had all those guys back here this season. You left out 2 wheelz. I did what little I could to try and make it happen. But it didn't. So let's all move on and enjoy our season.

It's all for the love of the ride...

  4. It's all about money at T-line, It's not about a sick park. They fired all the experienced guys to hire a new group at a much lower wage. How many people have given years of there lives to whole heartedly supporting Timberline only to be used up and spit out by Timberline Management?Just ask anybody who used to be a Groomer, Park Crew, Ski Patrol, Lifty or Maintenance. They can be found at other resorts making better wages in positions of respect. I hope you guys realize what you are supporting.....

  5. Alright I'm sick of this shit. If you don't like what we have going here and you don't like Timberline, DON"T COME HERE AND DON'T GO THERE! I'm sick of this sob story. GET OVER IT! I go to Timberline because they have a fun park. I support it with hopes of helping it get better. Which is what is fucking happening. Shit is getting better even without you. So don't sit there and lecture everyone that comes on this blog about Timberline not having the highest MORAL standing and telling us we shouldn't support them. I DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT THE POLITICS! And from what I gather from the other readers, THEY DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT THE POLITICS EITHER! If you don't like what Timberline pays, DON'T WORK THERE! "It's all about the money at T-Line." Funny, I always hear the same thing about Meadows. And Skibowl. And every other company on the face of the fucking earth. NEWS FLASH! THEY ARE A FUCKING BUSINESS!!!

Bottom line: If you're not here to discuss the parks, STAY THEY FUCK AWAY!

And if you're going to post, at least have the BALLS to use a name other then "Anonymous"

  6. To the readers of this blog: do you want to hear about the politics behind the management of Timberline? Or do you want to discuss what we can do to make the parks at Timberline the best they can be?

  8. I'm posting this anonymously ok. I'm supportin' the Guru and the encouraged enthusiasm on the final product -the highest possible level achieved in park design and maintenance.

Support our troops, and give mad props to to these dedicated employees. Thank you.
